Clinical Significance

Clinical Significance

Gamma Glutamyl Transferase (GGT)

GGT is an indirect measure of increased oxidative stress and moderately elevated levels are associated with CVD, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, hypertriglyceridemia, and fatty liver disease. Significantly elevated or high risk values are observed in patients with chronic liver and alcoholic liver diseases.
