Cholesterol

LDL carries cholesterol to the cells in your arteries. If you have high levels of LDL particles, cholesterol can build up in your arteries and form blockages called plaques.

Amount of cholesterol in good high-density lipoproteins (HDL). Higher levels of HDL are associated with reduced cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk.

Lipoprotein (a) is a type of LDL and is an independent risk factor for CVD.

Are a type of fat that circulates in your blood. High levels in the blood can raise your risk of heart disease and stroke.

Metabolics

Glucose is the most important source of energy in the body. Borderline fasting levels indicate prediabetes, and high levels indicate diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood sugar levels over the past 3 months. Like glucose, it is commonly used to diagnose prediabetes and diabetes.

Inflammation

C-reactive protein (CRP) is a protein made by the liver. The level of CRP increases when there’s inflammation in the body.

Our clinical labs are CLIA certified and CAP accredited, which means that our tests and practices are up to the highest standards in the nation. Before they’re publicly available, every biomarker undergoes an extensive validation at the lab to make sure that the test is both accurate and precise.

Start by thoroughly reviewing the written instructions and brief collection video. Remember to fast for at least 8 hours and drink 3 cups of water in the hour before collecting your sample.

Remember to write your name, date of birth and collection date on the blood card. A common error is not getting enough blood into the collection squares. Keep your hands in very warm water for at least 2 minutes and do some jumping jacks to enhance the blood flow before you prick your finger. Try not to get too much blood in the collection square. The video will show you how much to add. Mail your sample back to the lab the same day.

We accept credit card or PayPal payments. Your payment details will be required during the in-app subscription sign-up process. Monthly payments will be automatically deducted until a written request to terminate the service is made.

No, not at this time. However, you may want to look into your HAS and/or FSA to see if your provider will cover a subscription to this heart health program.

Your test results will be available on your HeartHealth app after the test has been completed. Test results are typically available within a week.

TNP means “test not performed”. Unfortunately, the lab was unable to test your sample. This could be because the sample wasn’t collected properly, or there wasn’t enough sample to test.

The sample must arrive to the lab within a timeframe that meets lab protocol. It’s important to collect and mail your sample back on the same day.

The lab will ship out a new collection kit. Please collect and return as soon as possible, reach out with any questions regarding a proper collection process.

You can end your subscription at any time for the HeartMap service. Upon your written termination request, a termination fee equal to one-month’s service charge will be applied before terminating the account. You will not be charged any further fees and will not receive any further collection kits. Account termination can be requested in the Heart Map app in the ‘Help & Support’ section, and can be initiated by selecting ‘Cancel my Subscription’.
